Brother Gerard wants Susan to quit BGT and record NOW!

According to the 'Daily Mirror', Susan has been left exhausted by the frenzy of excitement that greets her every move. Her brother Gerard said she is now "too big" for Britain's Got Talent and should leave the show to concentrate on putting out a record straight away.Susan's family and BGT guru Simon Cowell are also at loggerheads over how her startling success should be managed. In the US on Friday, Cowell criticised Susan for changing her appearance, saying: "Get yourself together, sweetheart, for the big one - the semi-final. Shut the door, choose the right song and come back as who you are, not who you want to be."But her family, led by businessman Gerard, think the OPPOSITE. They want her to get a record out immediately to capitalise on her instant fame and forget about the TV show.Gerard, 54, said: "There is a public appetite for a single but no product for people to buy. BGT need to sort this out." And he warned: "When I last spoke to her she sounded exhausted." I said, "How are you?" and she said, "Oh, Gerard, I've been here there and everywhere."I could tell she was absolutely shattered. I said to her, "Get off the phone and get to bed, you need to rest." Devout Roman Catholic Susan is distraught that she can't attend daily mass near her home in Blackburn, West Lothian.Referring to the media camped outside the family home, Gerard said: "It's like a scene from the film Notting Hill each time she opens the front door." Susan fled to sister Bridie's flat in Motherwell on Friday to avoid the fuss. She doesn't want to move away from home, but her family think it's inevitable - and claim BGT have failed to protect her from the storm of publicity.Gerard said: "The pressure would be so much less if there was a management team in place to look after her. Is there a management deal or not? I imagined Cowell would move forward on this. The problem is she's got too big for the show - we've got a star on our hands now." Susan's performance of I Dream A Dream from Les Miserables has been watched by over 100million on the net - five times the number who watched clips of President Obama's inauguration.

  1. Seems like is a burden for Susan Boyle already :/

  2. The family left her alone for years to take care of Mom and Dad while they lived their own lives, because she was "Susie Simple" and it was convenient for THEM.

And now they're giving advice and trying to interfere (especially Gerard)? ABSOLUTE WANKER RUBBISH.

She needs to listen to Simon, because unfortunately, he's right. She's got to wow everyone, not only to win but also to go farther. And her voice CAN go farther than it has. She has everything she needs vocally right now, she has to lengthen her range and connect more emotionally to what she's singing.

(Credentials for the above opinion: singing since age eight, classically trained, over 25 years of vocal experience, teacher of voice, and current performer myself!) :)

I am Susan's biggest fan and want her not only to do WELL, but to KICK IT OUT!!!

  3. I totally agree with the first comment. She needs to go through the entire process. It's obvious win, lose or draw she will be recording in a studio. However, it's the whole package she will need to cope with... including the media. Get a handle on it by sticking with the show.

Family members may be caring, but as the youngest left to cope with her mom, etc., yes, I do think they have some nerve telling her or trying to what she should and shouldn't do.

If you want it to LAST stick with the show and follow the advice of Piers, Amanda, and Simon.

If she wanted to be a flash in the pan, and watch her family sticking their hands out for "their share" then following them would be a huge mistake.

Good family or not, they are giving the absolutely wrong advice.

And yes, stay who you are... but everyone deserves a nice haircut every now and then, great singer or not :)

Glad I visited your blog, came by way of - you guessed it - my what must be 100th time of listening to Susan on YouTube :)

  4. She started and became a overnight sensation on Britian's Got Talent so she needs to follow it through to the end. The people that became her fans overnight can also leave her overnight. So Susan don't disappoint your fans and quit. Your brother is after your fame and money. Listen to your heart and do what is right. You bring tears to my eyes everytime I listen to you. So listen to Simon please.

  5. From Zero to Hero! That is the case with Susan Boyle at Britain’s Got Talent. She will be official singer at World Environment Day on June 5th. It will be a live-broadcast. Unbelievable. Watch it now
